Gareth Hendrix

"Gareth Hendrix and the Bunker Bigfoot" is a short, narrative-driven campaign using Tricubes Tales Solo as the base. The idea was to take normal RPG rules and expectations and invert them into narrative prompts: fights are dialogues, skill checks are guidance for how scenes playout, and any sort of life/resolve is just how strong a person is able to influence the scene. Agility might be the power to get around in the scene rather than actual speed, Brawn might be the power to control the scene, Crafty is more about keeping emotional check. And so forth.

The initial intent was a kind of silly, Southern Weird romp but instead it became a short meditation on isolation and trying to remind yourself of what matters. Especially in the final session, things get violent.

It is my first attempt at a more short-story style format of actual play. There is no external "journal," the sessions are written "live" into this blog and then later images are added and a title is worked out and such. Images come either from my own stash or from Pixabay.
