Beginning to Migrate (some) Content to the NEW Doug Alone

Beginning to Migrate (some) Content to the NEW Doug Alone I have had the idea since early on in this blog to possibly move it from this sort of hosted/third-party set-up to something more owned by me. This past week, I started to make this a reality: https://www.dougalone.com There are a lot of reasons behind this but let us start with caveat. I have exactly one real complaint about Blogger/Blogger and otherwise most of the decisions are about my creative process itself.  The One Real Complaint The newer Blogger themes tend to be plenty responsive as they are but there is still some degree of back-end handling that tries to serve up a "mobile-friendly" version of the page [note, this is based on looking into the errors and messages sent, I could be wrong]. This is the exact same page but Google, itself, treats this as a website trying to share multiple copies of the same content and basically passes this off as a reason to not index the site.  After over a year of havin...

Fourth Wall Breaks

NOTE: Fourth Wall Breaks (as a concept) have generally been moved to the new Doug Alone. However, the majority of those posted before the migration have been kept here. There are two exceptions, #7 and #10. The links below point to the current URL.

It has never been the intention of this blog to go off-topic from solo play.

That being said, it has been helpful to have a few "fourth wall breaks" from time to time to talk about some technical aspects of the blogs. Also, since the current { music | books | movies | videogames | etc } I am enjoying do tend get referenced or at least show off in the vibe of posts, it can be nice to touch-in on some of that occasionally. Never all that often, though. It is more likely to show up in passing in the notes/commentary section.

The term "Fourth Wall Break" did not occur to me until the second one, so technically the numbering is all wrong but ehhhhhhh...especially since a few later ones skipped using the term if they were about something specific or just didn't feel like using it.
